J. P. Cornelius Elementary is an exemplary magnet school for young talent in the areas of Science, Math and Technology.
  The school’s science program provides valuable science concepts and skills that will help students live and work in our technological society. The math program features an online instructional math program that is targeted to the needs of each individual student.
 

Our Campus
 
Cornelius Elementary School has an outstanding campus.  We have a SPARK Park that includes a soccer field, a walking track, an oversize chess board, as well as a tribute to scientists--both past and present.  Our campus also features an outdoor classroom and outdoor theater.  Each grade level has a science lab and science specialist.  Our 5th grade science lab is flanked by our nature center which consists of a garden, 2 ponds, butterly habitiat, and a greenhouse. Each of our classrooms is equipped with technology including, SMART Boards, Elmo Projectors, Mimios.  We also have 2 math labs which houses our Reasoning Mind program.
